English Language Millions of students around the world are nowadays realising that English plays a crucial role in attaining personal and professional success. For this purpose they are investing in their education by learning to speak English a priority. The English Language Department, aim to support our students and aims to raise awareness that English fluency is an important part for their personal and professional development. This will effect both their studies and future employability. Acting as a foundation to education and economic success, English has a distinct role in society as it forms part of our students’ identity but also their passport to the rest of the world. English is the medium of instruction in all our faculties. Therefore, students are expected to have a level of language proficiency that will enable them to communicate adequately within their field. In order to achieve this, the English Language Department provides language instruction to all students from the different faculties. It is the aim of the department to ensure that upon completion of the course its students have gained sufficient language skills to allow them to complete their courses successfully. The department’s mission is to provide high-quality English language instruction that responds to the needs of all students, thus enabling them to complete their programs of study satisfactorily and to communicate successfully in written and spoken English in their chosen professions. Seeking to improve its educational services continually through systematic assessments, the department aspires to be an example of excellence in education both nationally and internationally.
